He was involved in the Portabolomics project, focusing on metabolic network modelling, flux balance analysis, and network interdiction. After leaving the group, Shouyong started a lecturer position in Machine Learning at the College of Science, University of Lincoln and worked as programme lead of MSc Data Science and Applications. He now holds a lecturer position at the University of Aberdeen. His research interests include AI, machine learning, data science, decision making and optimisation.

Amias is now working at The Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment (HBBE). This collaboration between the universities of Northumbria and Newcastle is a consortium of architects, artists, and scientists.

HBBE aims to reduce pollution, generate energy and high-value products from waste by creating a new generation of living materials, responsive buildings, and sustainable microbial manufacturing strategies.

Amias is developing new chassis strains able to grow on and convert urban waste to useful industrial products. He is passionate about using biotechnology to develop sustainable solutions to societal challenges.

T--Newcastle--BradleyBradley is a member of the ICOS research group and works at the interface of computing and biology. He has completed a BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Exeter and a MSc in Synthetic Biology at Newcastle University.  Bradley was also involved in multiple iGEM teams as a team member, adviser, and supervisor.

Bradley has worked on several projects previously, ranging from cell-free systems to synthetic microbial communities to data standards for synthetic biology and was involved with the Portabolomics project, looking at automating synthetic biology experiments.
