Centre for Bacterial Cell Biology, Strand 4.1 Mini Cells as Overall Compartment for the Portabolomics Interface
Grace gained her undergraduate degree from the University of Sunderland in 2016, graduating with a first class honours in Biomedical Science. She then studied Molecular Microbiology MRes at Newcastle University and investigated the role of FtsW within the division complex with Dr Richard A. Daniel, graduating with a Masters by Research in 2017.
Grace started as a PhD student with Dr R. A. Daniel in April 2018 and, in collaboration with Dr Aurèlie Guyet, is developing the production of anucleate compartments within a range of chassis using different methods to bypass the host chromosome. Grace also aims to analyse these anucleate compartments to understand how they work, improve their yield and produce a portable genetic element which works between all anucleate strains developed.
