Yiming majored in computer science for Bachelor in Heilongjiang University of China and received her Master degree in financial computing in Queen Mary, University of London. She also worked as a software engineer in a bank for 6 years.
With the special interest in designing machine learning methods and applying them to tackle real problems, Yiming stared her PhD in September of 2018 as part of the Portabolomics project. She aims to extract new biological knowledge, e.g identify the biomarkers and infer the networks on massive biological data including but not limited to transcriptomics, proteinomics, images. This will help biologist to understand the complex molecular processes that occur in a cell from the point view of data.
