Prof. Marcus Kaiser studied biology and computer science at the Ruhr-University Bochum and the Distance University Hagen and obtained his PhD from Jacobs University Bremen in 2005. He is initiator and co-director of the Wellcome Trust PhD programme in Systems Neuroscience. He is leader of the UK INCF Special Interest Group in Image-based Neuroinformatics, member of several editorial boards (Network Neuroscience, Applied Network Science, Frontiers in Neuroinformatics, ACM Computing Reviews, PLOS ONE), and leader of Neuroinformatics research at Newcastle University (http://neuroinformatics.ncl.ac.uk/).
In March 2021 he joined the Precision Imaging Beacon of Excellence (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/research/beacons-of-excellence/precision-imaging/index.aspx ) and the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre at the University of Nottingham with links to the Centre for Mathematical Medicine and Biology and the School of Psychology.
