Her PhD studies at the German Heart Centre Munich involved genome-wide expression analysis of human bypass grafts with different degrees of atherosclerosis. From 2012 to 2015, Sara worked as a post-doctoral associate in the Chen lab at Singapore-MIT-Alliance for Research and Development in Singapore investigating malaria infection in a humanised mouse model.
